SolidWorks Exercises-ane: Circumvolve Sketch and Extrude Boss Feature

For learning SolidWorks features in item, need to do some exercises with each feature tools. This mail service is about SolidWorks Exercises for creating different shapes using extrude boss tool and circle. Here I am going to show basic 3D shapes such as cylinder and cone. In each shape tutorial, I will show the dissimilar applications of extrude boss/base of operations property manager besides.

3D Cylinder Practise

Dimensions of Cylinder: Diameter = 50 mm and Length = 100 mm

Using Circle button, draw it on the sketch expanse and then use the smart dimension to gear up the diameter of the circle is 50 mm, which is shown in the effigy below.

Step-3

"Exit the Sketch" and Select the "Sketch-1" from the Featuremanager design tree. Then go to "feature command managing director" and select the "Extrude dominate/base" button from it.

3D Cone Exercise

Here I'chiliad going to convert previously created 3D cylinder into a 3D cone, without irresolute its dimensions. You can create cone by using Revolved boss volition discuss later. Let us come across practice for creating 3D cone using Extrude boss/base feature.

Here I going to edit the 3D cylinder extrude boss.

For editing the features, go to featuremanager blueprint tree and select the Extrude Dominate.

Click right push of your mouse, then y'all can see a menu. From that select "Edit Characteristic".

So the Dominate Extrude property manager will once again announced. From that click on "Draft on/off" button. Then you need to enter the typhoon angle in next column which is shown in the figure.

To get draft angle, you know the cylinder superlative (100 mm) and radius (25 mm).

Past using trigonometry, tan Ө = 25/100. Then Ө = tan^-1 (four) = 14 caste typhoon found by calculation.

You can also click on the "draft Outward" selection at same typhoon angle which is shown beneath.
